Using Catholic Social Teaching to Inspire a New Generation of Bankers

Dr. Dawn Carpenter

This presentation is inspired by the 2008 global financial crash and focused on the role of the banker in the modern world. Catholic Social Teaching is used to explain the purpose and function of private property and the role of the banker. This presentation offers a new vision of the banker that will inspire those in the world of finance to use their «vocation» to become men and women for others. It focuses on corporate social responsibility, while also incorporating important themes in ethics, governance, and sustainability. It will conclude with an inspirational message about the proper use and function of wealth.
