Doctoral Dissertation: The Theological Nature of Work and Wealth as the Basis of Contributive Justice and the Moral Foundation for a New Social Contract
On January 20, 2020, Dr. Carpenter contributed her voice to the 2020 Let Freedom Ring! celebration honoring the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. In this capstone to her doctoral work in contributive justice theory at Georgetown, Dr. Carpenter joined in solidary with the ten-time Grammy Award® winner Chaka Khan and the Let Freedom Ring Choir led by Music Director Rev. Nolan Williams Jr. That evening was extra special to Dr. Carpenter because it was shared with the late John Thompson Jr. and Sandra Jackson, executive director of House of Ruth. For her work at the House of Ruth, Sandra was awarded the 18th annual John Thompson Jr. Award for service to the legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. For more than 40 years, the House of Ruth has provided safe and stable housing to women and children and families in the D.C. area who have experienced homelessness and abuse.
